Jazz is for EVERYONE!
Whether you’re a lifelong jazz fan or trying jazz for the first time, the Somerville High School Jazz Program has something for everyone. With over 50 students across three ensembles, there’s a place for musicians at all experience levels.
Students interested in joining Jazz Band are invited to attend our Jazz Jam Sessions, held every Tuesday in September and October in the band room. These sessions are led by our veteran jazz section leaders and are a great way to learn, explore, and get comfortable with jazz style and improvisation.
Placement auditions are announced on October 1 and are due in mid-November.
