Who are we?

The Ville Indoor Percussion Ensemble (commonly referred to as a VIPER) is  competitive music ensemble that brings the drumline and front ensemble of our Pioneer Marching Band indoors. Students in VIPER perform in gyms throughout the state of New Jersey against other percussion ensembles. 

Much like marching band, VIPER performs a show like the one you see below.

Who can join?

Anyone can join VIPER. That's right, we accept everyone. Whether you are new to percussion or a seasoned veteran, VIPER is open to all students. In fact, as much as 75% of our ensemble are percussion converts or doublers. If you are willing to join VIPER, we are willing to teach you!

Below are the sections available for auditioning.

To join VIPER, you must audition on an instrument. Don't worry, our auditions are meant to be placement auditions. We will put you on the instrument that we believe you will be most successful on. Before auditioning, think of three instruments you would like to audition on. 

When are rehearsals and performances?

6Rehearsals begin the last week of November:
Mondays: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
​Wednesdays: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Our performances are typically on Saturday's starting in February until the first week of April.

Can I do other activities during Indoor Percussion season?

Yes, you may join other clubs, activities, and sports during the VIPER season. However, expect you to be available for all rehearsals and performances. If you know you will have conflicts and would like to be part of VIPER, please contact Meg Major.
